| Zeugma is a computing services consultancy run by James Campbell. We have been providing a range of I.T. services to businesses and private individuals across the South of England and beyond since 1991. Our services include programming, database development and website design.
We specialise (but not exclusively) in databases and cataloguing solutions for the publishing and bookselling industry. For an example of our work, please see the website of Woodhead Publishing (produced in collaboration with CodeOperative), who for some years have used our services in connection with bibliographic databasing and printed catalogues, and whose website we were pleased to be involved in designing and building. We can be reached by e-mailing
The real Zeugma When I started my business in 1991, I chose the name Zeugma because I'd seen the word during one of my dictionary safaris and liked the look of it. (It means a figure of speech where a verb or adjective is used with two nouns, to one of which it is not strictly appropriate... but that's not important right now.) It has recently come to my attention that there is -- or was -- an actual place named Zeugma, and that the site is both a wonder and a tragedy. For more details, see the Wikipedia article here. |
